Fur Coat River Woman

A previously unreleased 1984 One Million Fuzztone Guitars / Skin Patrol track ‘Fur Coat River Woman’, it’s amazing the people you encounter working in a nightclub cloakroom.

“The ghostly vocals in the second half of the song remind me of the way they were used in Smiths songs ca Strangeways. They added a very mysterious edge to their songs.” AQ

Crystal Chandelier

Written on New Year’s Day, 1st January 1984, whilst coming down from an LSD trip watching the snow falling outside the window of a friend’s flat. Demoed for One Million Fuzztone Guitars at the time but never rehearsed, played live or recorded.

“Nicely done, breezy pop anthem to the Easy Life, big deception, and with bats in the belfry and chickens in the yard…I was reading about Kevin Rowland today. This song suddenly also reminded me of him.” AQ

“Great Scot! It’s good. I particularly like the words. This song is held forth by it’s narrative. A happy Nick Cave tune perhaps with a twist….. Good Rob, Good. I don’t know much – but I know when something musically is good to my ears and mind………” AR
